Just finished my tweaked version of the Back to the Future cross stitch pattern. The original can be found here. I was a little frustrated that it came without a color guide but I worked it all out on my own and even changed a lot of the design to look more authentic. I’ll post a version of my edited version and a color guide shortly. :)
Being a female gamer, a gamer girl, a girl gamer (whatever you want to call me) does not mean I owe you my life story. I know it’s sooooo hard to believe that a girl could love games so much and actually be good at them but get over it. I don’t have to tell you how old I am, if I have a boyfriend, if I’m sexually active, what I look like, what I weight, what my bra size is, etc. I don’t owe you shit. Rule of thumb, if you don’t find yourself asking the guys you play with these questions, you shouldn’t be asking me them. Not to mention, I don’t even know you so asking me these things just shows me that you’re a creep. Female gamers are not a concept, we are not an achievement to be obtained. Asking me personal questions when you’re a complete stranger gives you a free pass to a block list and ensures that I will never play any multiplayer with you. If you want to play because you think I’m good and would be an asset to play with, that’s fine just leave it at that. I’m tired of people thinking that being a girl who enjoys games means that it’s okay to harass us because we’re in “a guy’s world”. Wise up, games aren’t just for boys, they aren’t just for kids, they are for anyone who enjoys them. Don’t say, “Oh, she’s actually good at this” like it’s some shocking thing that something with tits could prosper in such a “masculine” world. My tastes in games vary from things like Zelda to Call of Duty and almost everything in between. I don’t mind playing a super girl based game like Catherine but I can slaughter zombies with the best of them. I don’t have to justify that I’m a “real gamer” just because I’m a girl. I don’t have to tell you every game I’ve ever played and tell you the plot so you don’t think I’m just trying to play the nerdy girl because it’s trendy. I’ll be the first to tell you that I’m a huge nerd, I’m not ashamed of it, I’m not trying to hide inside some trend, I play games because I genuinely enjoy it as do many other girls. It’s time to grow up and show some respect. End rant.
